Facebook: A common recycling mistake people make: they bag recyclables and then place that bag in the recycling bin. But when you bag recyclables, the automated equipment at the MRF (materials recovery facility) can’t identify and sort the recyclables properly. Instead, the machines think the bag is filled with garbage, and your recyclables get diverted to the landfill. So if you have a bag of recyclables, take that bag to the bin, turn it upside down, and dump your recyclables into the bin. Remember to always put your empty bottled water containers and jugs in the recycling bin. #IfInDoubtThrowItOut #EndContamination www.putitinthebin.org
